Political Mayhem Thursday: Prepare for the season of the terrible ads
As we move towards the midterms and then another presidential election, we have to prepare us for another round of horrible and depressing political ads:
-- Grim voices telling us what horrors will befall us if we elect the opponent
-- Treacly images of candidates with animals, babies, and their awkward families
-- More grim voices telling us the awful terrible thing their opponent said two decades ago
Once in a while, if we are lucky, we get one that is unintentionally wonderful, like this Senate candidate having to reassure voters that she is not a witch:
And even less often, one comes along that is truly beautiful:
Perhaps this time around, we will get an above-average serving of beautiful.
