Haiku Friday: Italian food

Who doesn't like Italian food? And I'm really longing for some right now. So let's haiku about that this week. Here, I will go first:

Angel hair pasta-
Is it made by real angels?
My answer is yes.

Now it is your turn! Just use the 5/7/5 syllable test and have some fun!

Comments:
Visiting family
while dieting. “But you can
eat lasagna, right?’

Make that fam’ly

OK -- you knew that the paisan' was going to jump in on this one!

Grandma took the bus
to Patterson to buy me
cannoli. That's love.

OK, and another,

I never knew folks
bought Ragu in a jar 'til
I got to college.

Sausage and peppers.
"Italian soul food" is what
my father called it.

OK, just one more, because now I'm hungry.

Finding wheat berries
for the Easter wheat cake is
a feat in NoVA.

Rich, creamy goodness
Gelato where have you been
ahh...Bellissimo

Which gelato shop?
Inspect the pistachio!
Pale green means REAL deal

Seriously, this is how you distinguish cheap “tourist” gelato shops from the real deal with natural ingredients.

Cheap stuff is dyed to look bright green and means they cut corners on ingredients. Real, natural pistachio is a very pale green.

Find that, and it’s likely they take ride in their food and it will be amazing.

Learned that in Naples and found it to be true all over Italy.
