Haiku Friday: On Disappointment

I don't know what it was about yesterday, but it seemed like many of the people around me were suffering from disappointment of one kind or another-- things had just not broken their way. Yesterday wasn't that day for me personally, but I have had plenty of them, of course.

Let's haiku about that this week. Here, I will go first:

Next to the mailbox
He opens an envelope
His warm smile fades.

Now it is your turn! Just use the 5/7/5 syllable formula and get to work!

Comments:
Disappointment comes
from your plan not being God’s
plan. That’s all. Just chill.

No runner wants to
Be the "clapper." Last place, slow,
Cheers that it is done.

What do you do when
You have what you wanted but
It's not what you want?

Overtime! Got This!
Clock runs, play transpires.
Agony. Defeat.

Once proud heads hang low.
The tide has turned against them.
Game clock ticks by slow.

The child for whom things
were looking up just had a
fender bender. Sigh.

Disappointment's deep:
Boss you admire has fits of pique,
You're not good enough.
