Haiku Friday: In the library

Maybe I am old-fashioned, but I love libraries.  One of my favorite things to do is to just wander and pull books out if the title interest me.  It's overwhelming, all of the information there… and there is a presence to it.

Let's haiku about our favorite libraries-- or least favorite-- and memorable experiences in libraries.  Here, I will go first:

Deep within the stacks
Stolid Sterling Library
Distraction abounds.

Now it is your turn-- just use the 5/7/5 syllable plan, and have some fun!

Comments:
At our local pub
Shelves full of dusty old books
An Old Speckled Hen

My kids thought for years
That Barnes and Noble was really
Called "The Library!"

Exam tomorrow.
Crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch.
Who is eating chips!!!?

Mrs. Hooper and
Her enormous breasts ruled the
Library. She took

Great glee assessing
Girls skirt length and sending them
To principals office.

One day the boys gave
Her gift:50DD bra.
"Let's give Librarian

A little support," read
The charming card! "Why,thank you,
"Boys! Just what I wanted!"

Books in the basement,
More than I could imagine,
Carnegie did it.

Mom brought me Tuesdays
Found a world outside the farm
Thanks Mr. Carnegie!

Books, books, everywhere
Dusty stacks, political
most from the Bush years

Now an Arab spring...
cleaning is necessary
Bio books topple

Heavy tomes to fill
ones mind with trivial facts
Love the library

My sister found peace
In the library.No brutal
Arguments.No Yelling.

Just quiet books,folks-
Computers whirring innards.
But couldn't hide there.

Sally pounced upon me
In the stacked--I mean stacks. Whoooo!
Librarian peeked!

Listen Osler--Geoff sucks

Well on my way
To becoming intellectual
Geoff whoopied in stacks

I might have been there
Too. Promptly expelled. Out on
Naked rear.Real bitter,Man!

Library a-clutter
Books. Ferns.My boy's art.
Organics of growth.

Books whisper to me
Such tantalizing proposals--.
Magic phone talks trash.
