Summer food
Things I will only eat in the summer:
-- anything on a skewer
-- watermelon
-- sorbet
-- cherries
-- wild salmon
-- fruit-flavored ice cream of any kind
-- sponge cake
-- blueberry pie
Does that make me weird?

The fresh fruit was on sale this past weekend at the grocery. So we have been eating strawberries, peaches, nectarines, pears, bing cherries, in addition to the usual apples and frozen blueberries, along with the usual veggies and avocados. A summer feast w/o animal protein.
You got me:
-- okra
-- falafel (because I don't like it without FRESH cucumber)
-- watermelon and cherries, especially my favorite watermelon and feta salad
-- peaches and plums
-- Cheerwine, because we can only get it when we go to the beach in SC
And yes, the ban on sorbet is a little weird -- no mango sorbet to liven up a winter evening?

I was going to say there’s nothing weird about eating seasonal, but the sponge cake threw me off. Unless the sponge cake you eat is made from actual wild sponge...uhm, a terrific palate cleanser I imagine.
Don't understand the salmon but watermelon, peaches, nectarines and corn are definitely on my list. And since I only visit Michigan during the summer I will add Coney Dogs and Vernors to the list
