Haiku Friday: Birfday!

It's true; it is my birfday.  Sure, birthdays are a little like getting excited when the odometer flips over 10,000 or 100,000 miles, but... I get excited about that, too.

So, let's haiku about birthdays.  Which one was your favorite?  Did you ever get a great surprise on your birthday, or a memorable gift?

I will go first:

It is another day
Like any other day; It
is what you make it.

Now it is your turn...  5/7/5 for syllables, fun for the attitude!

Comments:
Three couples over;
Gourmet dinner I cooked it;
Three Redneck Tenors.

Best Birthday gifting
enjoy my food and then laugh
at great comedy

Good music, humor
All genres well sung by four
at the Hippodrome.

Turned 21 in
NYC. First drink foiled
by Texas ID.

My Birthday: May 1st

The bride pink roses
In blush and lime ewer,with
Chocolate noir,fizz

Gold cold champagne,they
Dance round May pole bloom-covered,

What is there to fear?
Most folks dread turning 40,
but not Yours Truly.

Another decade:
maturity, life lessons ...
made me who I am.

Turning twenty-one,
Living in Madrid, alone,
Great friends rescue me.

In mid-October
I start,trepidatious,has
It truly come? My

Day of reckoning?
I feel myself growing more
Sere.Turning golden,

Crimson,pumpkin,and
Finally brown like acorn.
Taken underground

To be daffodiled
In spring. But when the year turns
I pray one more love.

My summer birthday;
many times it lasted days
on end, choc'late cake

Listen Osler--Geoff so far does not suck.

My birthday last year
Fourth of July,Geoff put some
Sparklers in his shorts.

Apart from singed flesh,
Slightly grilled privates,he was
Back in business... two weeks!

On Sal's Day I got
A tat of horse with Sal's name.
Guess where they put name?

Emily's birthday
In Thornton Wilder's "Our Town"
She chooses the day

One to go back to,
The most precious day on earth
She is turning twelve

Her mother calls her
Downstairs to have her breakfast.
Emily says, Look!

Mama, look at me!
Does anyone realize?
Sunflowers and coffee

Aprons and hot baths
Earth, you are too wonderful!
Sound of clocks ticking.

All birthdays are a
pleasant surprise to me. I
made it one more year!

Nine years old,farm rich,
Got a movie magazine in
A purple room.Gawky

Girlchild sees faux brand
Romancelove. Clock smiles..I
Forgot.Was there cake?

Prince lay under the
Tree.California sun tries
To melt his black spots.

He had followed them
To the birthday party..He
Always followed tjem.

Screams red rose and burst
Crazy balloons. Careened round
Him drunken dwarves. One

Climbed the tree above him
And fell on his tail. He bit.
It was his last bite.
