Haiku Friday: Making out

When I was a teenager back in Grosse Pointe, people would go down to the little strip of grass by the lake to make out.  On a warm summer night, it got a little crowded down there.  Here in Minnesota, I've heard that the place for teenagers to make out is the warming huts by the outdoor ice rinks.  I guess that kind of makes sense... coming in from the cold and all that.

Kissing is a funny thing-- I'm not quite sure where that came from, the idea of it.  It doesn't really serve an evolutionary purpose that I can think of.  Still, what better topic can there be for haiku?

I'll go first:

Eight feet of lawn and
Those towering elms; summer
How could they not kiss?

Now it is your turn... make it 5 syllables/7 syllables/5 syllables and all will be good...

Comments:
On one summer night
She lost herself to a kiss
along that lakeshore....

They drove to the beach
setting sun, blanket, vino
It was there Eden

When pure logic fails
I generally thank God
for his sublime gifts...

My first kiss was
On the back of a bus, seventh grade
Sublime gift? Not quite.

A kiss: First struggles
In the long emergence from
their cocoon - childhood.

"You may kiss the bride."
(Please be the kind of kiss I
should see...but, oh no.)

The boy next door was
sitting so close on the couch,
kissed my cheek, then mouth.

Sitting in the back.
Empty church in a small town.
Where it all began.

They left doors unlocked.
For people to pray I spose.
Certainly I prayed.

For luck... And later
for wisdom when she said yes.
Proposed in the same place.

No matter how bad
You think you are at kissing,
You must keep trying.

'Member that one time?
Rum Raisin ice cream, two spoons.
Oops. Here come the cops!

The next time, no cops.
Magic in the glowing sky.
A kiss to start over.

No, I would not like -
(though your kiss was nice, at first)
- to share your chewed gum.

Another bad one!
It wasn't gum -- tobacco!
Welcome to Texas!

By the playground slide
a youthful indiscretion
played Spin the Bottle...

She devoured him slow
This truffled mouth,this sandal-
wood Eros,this man.

They never missed her or
Fretted her fate.She slid down
Slip'ry slope.Kiss Kiss

A shy shove of the lips
Begins it. Until lips are
Whisked down the vortex--

Are not in charge of
What they might do.Lungs starve air.
Mind does not wander,

Mind,for once does not
Exist. Someone who lives at
Your river's source owns you.

Listen Osler--Geoff sucks!
Post Halloween in Madison.

Jaws full of Juicy Fruit
He mashed me.I had just put
Red lipstick on!

It was now all over
My face when the cop banged on
Car window.No parking!

Did I complain re:
Vampira red paint on her
Lips? No! Gum is good!

Can I help it she
Didn't share? Or the open
Gin bottle in car?

(Or my trouser lack?)
Clothes can get in your way.Sheesh!
Half of fine ain't much.

"The decision to kiss for the first time is the most crucial in any love story. It changes the relationship of two people much more strongly than even the final surrender; because this kiss already has within it that surrender." - Emil Ludwig

First kiss on my neck
Surprised us both as we thought
What will this lead to?

MMM

First comes that moment
Holding her hair like wheatgrass
Then, drink in her scent.
