Haiku Friday: Internships!

Over the years, most of us have had an internship of one kind or another.  They make for some weird, weird lessons.  Let's haiku about those today!  If you didn't have an internship, you can haiku about your first paid job (which probably worked much the same way).  Or, fantasize about an internship with IPLawGuy (if that is your kind of thing).

Here is mine:

CTL, intern
Made both copies and a bomb--
That is real talent!

Now it is your turn.... the formula is 5 syllables/7/5, and have some fun!

Comments:
"Catch mice, birds," they said.
It sounded like a good gig.
Why, then, the anger?
PTC

My 16th birthday
Red swim suit, zinc oxide nose
a park rat no more....

"Look at my left ear."
Optometry was not all
I thought it would be.

Flip switch, turn knob, blink.
If not this, then what? I know:
I'll be a writer.

Pickles: no, no, no.
That wasn't an internship
Just life that you chose.

Excuse me?...fantasize about an internship with IPLawGuy?!!!! I hardly know what to say!

She reported for
Work in Chanel.Her long hair
Chignon'd.High Heels.Sharp.

Her intellect like
Small stars flickering,daisies
Near third base or home.

Copy file and help
Pick up lunch - Chinese Kitchen
Oops wrong restaurant

All was fine and odd.
Years later boss thrown in jail
for embezzlement.

I loved the way he
Bit his lip and lowered his eyes
Cigar migrated south.

I used to tell folks,
"I am on probation..."
Justified poor service.

When the lasagna
Went in businessman's lap:
"I'm still on probation."

When the call light went
On hours late: "Where's my coffee,"
"I'm still on probation."

Probation covered
A multitude of sins well.
That and Russian accent.

Teach them what? I said.
Photography she responds,
Dark room, enlarger.

The studio was
Dark and he stood behind his
Camera tall,strong.

She was naive,just
There for a head shot,it was
Nineteen Seventy.

In a crocheted top
And a long skirt.I suppose
She ought to have been

Suspicious when he
Asked her to lift her
Top. A child still.She

Did. High and higher.
It didn't feel good at the
Center,Herself writhed.

Now forty years later
She loathed and loved this girl.
And the "no" still trapped.

Make a bomb, she says!
On Aqua-Tuesday, she says!
I'll charge her double!

But double zero
Is still no pay--I really
Better get an A!

Osler doesn't bite
And he knows I'm talented.
Is he hiring?

Like IPLawGuy,
He likely defers to the
Illuminati!

The bus ride was quiet,
as fear mixed with sweat and a
little excitement.

The street lights passed by
in the South-Texas night.
Thoughts and prayers alone.

Then the bus slowed down,
the heart sped up, as they passed
the guard shack and gun.

Air-breaks squealed, doors
swung wide, and boots marched on.
No welcome, just orders.

Then "NOW!!!" pierced the night.
RUN helter-skelter! As lines
form by broad brimmed hat.

The amazing thing,
they were all volunteers,
greedy for glory,

and the G.I. Bill.
Uncle Sam more than willing
to bribe.

Excellent,David.

Researching merits
Of my sleep number bed,my
Latte? Very late.

What Sal did not get
Was that yours truly needed
Intern.Fetch Latte & Love.

THE INTERNS OF THE LORD

They were clowns,really.
One who made grandiose statements
That were very true.

He tried to show off
Walking on water to his
Lord. Then said he did

Not even know the guy,
When He was in trouble.He
Founded the Church. "Rock."

Poet boy of whom the
Lord was very fond. James,his
Brother,their mother,planned

Where their placecards would
Sit at the feast board in Heaven
At Jesus'right hand.

One Bean-counter who
Didn't like kids,and gals who
Bought high-priced scent to

Anoint His Feet. Tsk! Tsk!
Sold Him for thirty pieces
Of silver. and hung

Himself,pierced by guilt.
A twin,who did not believe
Had to put fingers

In the nail holes of
His hands and spear holes of side.
My Lord and my God.

All of them ran from
The cross. But the poet boy,
And the women. They stayed.

These women.Marys.
Stayed to hold his eyes.Defy
Death,stand up for Friend.

So these were his interns.
Weak,tempted,show-offs,doubters
Women who had struggled

With mental illness
And Passion,but He took faults
And turned them to strength.

This ragged band of
Heroes and cowards,and made
Seeds of Faith.
