Gotta love MSNBC. You post an article about not using the death penalty and the first two comments are about how your proposed alternative is cruel, and perhaps even "torture." Love the first one:

"I find your comments unspeakably cruel. I did not know of the existence in the USA of such a dehumanizing prison arrangement. Compassion belongs in our hearts to all individuals in every circumstance."

Ugh. Hippies.
