Poems 2012: Drought

Bone dry corn stalks
Brittle, unmoving
No easy sway with the wind.
In the town, I stop.
Two girls stand there,
Twin stalks, unmoving;
Too far from the water.

I love me a drought poem! And you captured how a drought dries up the people, too. I remember the first day it finally rained last year, and everyone in the neighborhood came out in the street and got wet.
