I really enjoyed the Italian Women sweep the Foil. What a cool event, that, and team Archery. I would like to try both. They take agility, concentration and arm strength, but no speed.

it's a well-known fact that beating the brewers in one-run games-- or beating them at all, for that matter-- is no accomplishment.
but at least we managed to get rid of our second-best player last week.
that'll help.

i'm just thankful that on aug. 1, it officially becomes football season.
 

back on topic, though, i'd have to say the american man (teehee) and woman sweeping gold in men's and women's (heheheheHaaahaha) skeet (HahahahaHAAAHAHA) shoo..... HAHAHAHAAAAHAHAAAA...

sorry, i thought i'd be able to pull that one off.

but the women winning the team gymnastics and phelps winning his record 19th olympic medal are pretty cool.
 

So far, the opening ceremonies. I've never seen an opening ceremony better catch a nation's quirks -- good and bad -- than this one. (Although the Canadian Winter Olympics opening ceremonies were nearly as effective in doing so.) The Brits got it right -- full of goofy humor, great music, surprises, (the Queen! 007! The Prodigy!), dance, and even a history lesson. Totally off the wall. I've lived for a year in the U.K. and been back many times and it was so ... BRITISH.
P.S. Oh, and I loved seeing Espana getting their Spanish-hiney kicked in futbol by some little country in Central or South America or the Caribbean or wherever it is from. Too cool!

Now Woody, you just spoiled it for those of us (not me) who want to wait and watch. I watched swimming live on my computer this afternoon.
 

This just in: match fixing in Badminton. By the look of the singles match I am watching it may be continuing.
 

Sharing in Jordan's disappointment for finishing fourth among all the girls in the all-around qualifying, being left out of the finals and then seeing her radiant smile(s) as she contributed so well in securing the team gold medal for the other girls and herself...

A life time of treasured memories and life lessons experienced in two days - amazing visuals...
 

Jordyn Weiber's smile when she nailed the first tumbling pass of her floor exercise in the finals of the team competition. She knew that she was rocking it to the tune of a gold medal. It was great to see the rare combination of joy and complete confidence in such young competitors.
