Haiku Friday: The Song Stuck in Your Head

You know what I'm talking about. Let's haiku about that today. Here is mine:

Oklahoma kids...
Stop torturing me, Hanson!
I deserve Rancid.

Now it is your turn. Just make it 5 syllables/7 syllables/5 syllables, and win, and you get your bio here on Monday.

Comments:
Too much sports? Yeah, def,
when "Kristen, you're such a good
listener" plays all day.

Sad to say, but the
song STUCK in my head" Spencer's
recital: "INDIAN SONG."

GAWD

Steel that sleeps the eye
Needs nor tax nor toll, swollen
And halo'd. It's stuck.

Quite similar to this, unfortuantely... But this is of course not Spencer..

so darn creative
it's been stuck there 4 days now
"weasel band" does it.

Cat's Birthday by Cheryl Wheeler

Thanks to you I still have this ridiculous song running through my head....

H.R. Puff-n-stuff
Who's your friend when things get tough
La-Dee-Da-Dee-Da

Lyle Lovett croons
acoustically on stage
"If I had a boat...."

FYI - If Lyle and John Hiatt come to your town I highly recommend you spend an evening with them.

They're two, they're four, they're
six, they're eight, shunting trucks and
hauling freight.... mercy.

Accidents happen
now and again! Life mirrors
Thomas and his Friends.

Stuck in my head are
Theme songs from the TV shows
I watched in my youth.

Tales of castaways...
Simple life in Green Acres...
Patty and Kathy...

Or, if you would like
Product jingles from old times
can be dredged up too.

Professor--this is finally a haiku topic where,I am afraid to go there.Very Afraid. I was all ready for the topic to be BEER or other intellectual property. I don't know why.

A kick in the teeth:
What doesn't kill me only
will make me stronger!

(Bad language warning:
but Papa Roach sometimes sings
what I'd like to say.)

Since seventh grade gym,
idle mind plays "My Baby
Takes the Morning Train"

Industrious worms
Play card games on proboscis.
Eyes,nose-->pus whip-cream.

Lamenting the depths great to which I have fallen.

This English lad bred
For hijinks of love, sang
"Yummy in tummy."

Which certainly made him much less attractive to his potential American girlfriend.

I abhor what
The little ant stopped to do,
Formation marching.

Ear-worms are blessed tunes,
When they are Sondheim songs,I'm
Just "losing my mind."

Extreme stress causes
This boomer to hear theme from
Captain Kangaroo.

Over and over,
Jingly, jangly notes repeat
In my stressed-out mind.

Am I seeking to
Revert back to childhood to
Escape from worry?

Whatever. It works.
Mem’ries of Captain, Green Jeans,
Moose, Bunny calm nerves.

Oh to have our old
Zenith TV give me my
Captain K again!

And for those too young to know or too old to remember Captain Kangaroo:

Peace song causes urge
To KILL! "War unh! good God y'all"
Migraine City.Hell.

When some song get stuck
(Like that new one, by Gotye)
It's not a bad thing.

Lips at lobe,she snakes
It in,"Lou-ee Lou-ai,O
BabyNow." It sticks.

All I got is a
Photograph, I wanna touch
You. Def Leppard RULES!

Great Zeppelin Tune
Nobody's Fault But Mine, Page
Rages on the Les Paul

IPLawGuy wins again? "Page rages on the Les Paul"... wonderful.

Stairway to heaven,
Can't get her out of my mind,
Now thirty five years.

"Signs, signs, everywhere's
Signs, blockin' up scenery
Breakin' up my mind.

"Do this! Don't do that!
Buddy, can't you read the signs?"
Geez: this is the worst.

Bob
