Poetry Cavalcade 9: Interstases

Money, time, and truth
Dissipate as one
Disappearing:
An addict's best skill.
It's a game now
I see them
Though they wear no sign--
You must look in the spaces
Where things ought to be.
Their baubles are circles
Of stories repeated
An angry insistence
On untruths to believe.
I knew her, you know;
The girl with the most cake.
