Poetry Cavalcade 12: Leaf (3)

I found a red leaf
(Light as a pencil)
Deep in the fall
The shape of a seal.
I can be gentle
Like holding an egg
Soften my edges
And this time I did.

Leaf poem multitudes--a quartet of them? I like the phrase,"soften my edges." I see the child wonder and focus, and when I do,I bless that moment and encourage the child to remain.
