What? No risers?

This past weekend, I went to the local high school's choir concert. Man, have things changed since I was in high school! No more standing in rows on risers... now they are all dancing around and wearing funny outfits. All of which is good-- or at least more interesting. And how did they find high school students in Edina who could play the banjo and accordian?

Is the TV show "Glee" responsible for any of this?

Comments:
You can't beat a good banjo...

Like this one?

Edina has always had stellar music and theatre groups. I went to a musical there last year. There was a voice coach,a choreographer, a professional scenery building department...you name it,they had it. The voices showcased sounded like seasoned Broadway performers. The money is there. I thought to myself, what if I'd had that training coming up? I love to sing and act. What kind of funny clothes did they have on?

I got a riser everytime I saw that girl from English class on stage.... Oh, sorry.... never mind.

Yes, blame it on "Glee."
P.S. I love "Glee."

Megan-- I'm giving Glee credit! This was a fabulous, entertaining show...

Curious how many students were involved or on stage at any one time. Chorus was very inclusive and if you had the interest and a good voice you could try out for the smaller groups. We didn't all aspire to be a teen sensation or try out for American Idol.

And heaven forbid the people in choir wanted nothing to do with Mr. Judson and his hack band and orchestra.
