The amazing price for seeking the death penalty...

Over $10 million dollars in one New York case... and the jury rejected death in just a few hours. See the details here.

Comments:
The cost is indeed regrettable, but to me,justice was served. The dead die but once, but this man is confronted with the loss of so many small and free things that make our existence abundant every single day he spends in that jail cell.Perfect judgment would be if he sat in that cell and his only entertainment were reading about the life of his victim/s and the lives of those victims' families and friends since his death. The judgment of death is one I could never pass on someone else. I do not believe that judgment should ever rest in human hands. And being a bleeding heart,I do not count the cost.

I saw this piece in the NY Times this morning and of you.
