50 Years


Yesterday, my parents celebrated their 50th anniversary. I'm not sure I can describe this more beautifully than they already did in their haiku yesterday:

My message to x
We spent the last fifty years
Learning to love.

...and we love you for it.

Happy Anniversary to your parents!

I was thinking and barring health issues, I have many, many people in my life who have celebrated 50 years of marriage. Hopefully I have learned something from all of them so I can make it to 50 yrs.

I will raise a glass to Phyliss and Spike... to 50 years, to still learning to love, to raising a family that demonstrates their commitment. And to showing an example of seeing 50 years as a fleeting moment rather than an eternity.
