Haiku Friday: Road trip!

Summer is for road trips, and I wish I was on one right now-- headed north a bit, west, whatever. There is great freedom on the road.

Let's haiku about that today. It can be about a trip you took, or just one you dream of.

Here is mine:

I drove slow and young
Up in the gentle green mountains
Sweet Virginia breeze.

Now it is your turn. Drive it!

Comments:
Drive fast. Hold my hand.
Sing. Tell stories. Steal a kiss.
I'll go where you want.

Get off the highway
Take that old, slow road my way
I will wait for you.

Dorban

Nowhere to be now
Free in my smallblock Chevy
A full tank of gas.

My God, don't we have
us a beautiful country?
I wish I could drive it.

Dear anonymous people:

Please stop making out on my blog.

Love,
Osler

Kiss me car driver!
Let's make out on Osler's blog!
I'll give you a byte.

Don't worry 'bout us
We're married-- we don't make out
Just drive; air guitar.

Road trip, drive away
From all these stupid tests
And mem'ries of school.

Sailing down the road,
Carried onward by the wind;
Freedom incarnate.

The thing about that video is that it took him till 2:11 out of a 4 minute video to get to New Mexico. I think a lot of the country was give short shrift.

Are we there yet? Are
we there yet? Are we there yet?
Are we there yet? Mom?

A new CD please!
You say its avant garde art
I say its disco.

Big Plymouth Wagon
No car seats or safety belts
boredom, boys battle.

Road trip to Alpine
Probably, despite the name,
Won't need chains this time.

Aunt's station wagon
Eating crackers and Cheez-Whiz
Four kids in the back.

Interstate 40
Oblivious to it all
What are those blue lights?

Tampa to Durham
I-95, no roadtrip...
but returning home

Two days in the car
Colorado, here we come!
Stay at least two weeks

Juarez - 4 a.m.
"Donde esta America?"
Child doesn't answer

I-95 and I-40 were no roadtrip today!

Osler turns northward
Singing with the radio
A bit of sadness.
