Great money making scheme!

Some of you may have been to Medieval Times (I haven't, but I have heard a lot about it). At MT, you sit around an arena, eat gobs of food with your hands, and then watch a jousting match between some knights representing different countries. The spectators are assign to cheer for one knight or another.

How about we do the same thing, only the spectators pick a Supreme Court justice, and then they battle it out? I would go to that...

Comments:
As would I.

Each Justice could have a signature weapon, and Mortal Kombat style "fatalities." I could see Ginsburg with a katana and Scalia wielding a two-handed claymore. Of course, since those two are friends they have to be allies in a big story arc where they'd face off against Alito's whirling bo staff and Roberts' needle-sharp rapier. Then Sotomayor comes storming into the arena on a black stallion swinging this massive scimitar, and nobody knows what side she's going be on. Ultimately she teams with up with Scalia and Ginsburg, because Roberts killed her father in the war or something, and then she just starts hacking away. Brutal.

This escalated quickly. I thought we were just talking about meat and jousting.

I see a new video game in the works or perhaps a new social networing game on Facebook.

What would we call this spectacle?

The Justice League?
Court of Lawlessness?
Cruel and Unusual Punishment?

Professor Osler, I take it you would offer either the final thumbs up or thumbs down (not entirely accurate from a historical perspective) in the event that one justice incapacitates another? Like Caesar?

Sure... I'm up for that. (practicing thumbs down technique)

All I can picture are those little fighting nun dolls.

Okay, here are some practice scenarios:

Thumbs up or down-Ginsburg pins Sotomayor after a dramatic dual on the front steps. A scene ironically set beneath the words "Equal Justice under Law"

Thumbs up or down-The entire New York coalition is disarmed, bound, and suspended from the railing of the east spiral staircase. Justice Breyer looks to you for the signal.

Thumbs up or down-In a dramatic twist Justices Alito and Robets turn on each other. Roberts asserts his prerogative as Chief and orders Scalia to restrain Alito. Sword at the ready Roberts waits...the crowd cheers you as you extend your arm!

Up
Down
Down

Anon 3:42 ~ This was good for a afternoon laugh!

aNON 2:46 ~ I like 'Court of Lawlessness'

"Confirmation" in front of the Senate is for wimps. Kagan should have to face off against at least five of the justices in ultraviolent sword-to-sword combat.
