Haiku Friday: Kids

This week, let's haiku about kids. Maybe you are one. Maybe you know some. Definitely, you were one. So, think of childhood in summer...

Lying on a porch
Reading an old comic book
My toes in the sun.

Now it is your turn...

Comments:
Today, it's tennis.
Tomorrow, let's play soccer.
On Friday, we'll swim.

Relentless rays on
my nose. I peel the skin off.
Familiar chorus.

Grass stains. Mud caked knees.
Their scents mingle in my nose.
Orange slice adds depth.

Tangled mat of hair
Mud and chlorine, chocolate
Mama sighs deeply.

Daughter called this morn'
Spent the night at Grandmother's
I got hung up on.

Handlebars released:
Gliding, flying like a bird!
Riding bikes all day

At the Jersey Shore
He says, "Best day of my life"
All six years of it.

How does one rhyme this:
Overbearing parents, sports
Summer; no time for fun.

sneaking into pools.
breaking the rules, just for fun.
home for dinner. smile!

Where is my football!?
MOM! Have you seen my football?
Where did you put it?

Squeaky back screen door,
hot pavement, Park pass, Bomb-Pops
6 weeks of camp! YAY!!!!!!!

That door ONLY Squeaked in summer!! So weird.

Two sisters, ten books
Reading with feet intertwined
Finish, go get more.
