In the Shadow of the Capitol

Today is one of those days when I feel displaced-- thrust into not only a place but a persona that is different than I have in Waco.

I'm pondering what tie to wear. I don't usually worry about that, but right now I am.

What is the right tie for meetings and court? Give me fashion advice.

Comments:
depends on what kind of suit you are wearing, but for court. I personally don't think much comes off better than a solid color tie. A strong red or blue, depending on your mood can set the tone you wish to bring.
As for your pieces of flair, I suggest you go with diagonal stripes but on a thick fabric so that it doesn't look cheap.

polka dots

I think a gold tie to remind you of Baylor and to celebrate the Lady Bears.

I liked the one you wore in the Dallas Morning News article.

My standard dress is black suit, blue dress shirt, and a blue, grey and white tie, in a simple repeating pattern. Quiet and unassuming.

All Stacey Adams. Head to toe.

Geez, I would have let you borrow mhy tie that the hostess at the restaurant liked so much yesterday if you had asked.

I also have, right here in my office, a couple baseball themed ties. CJ Roberts and Justices Scalia and Stevens are baseball fans.

keyboard tie. end of discussion. actually, that ends all discussions. good day, sir.

There is only one person you should ask.

Anon.--

That guy at J. Press in Cambridge?

Bolo tie, definitely.

Can you get a tie with Jessica Rabbit on it? Most appropriate for capitol hill.

Med,

If you find a Jessica Rabbit tie, I WANT one!

You have too many striped ties. You need to broaden your selection. GWB wore a lot of nice ties perhaps he can give you some since he doesn't have to dress up very often. You need something in a nice medium blue print.
