Top five Texas snow day activities (from what I can see)

1) Waiting for the tow truck.

2) Buying groceries in a mad panic, because somehow this one inch of snow will cut off our food supply.

3) Accelerating.

4) Building large mushy snowballs that never quite coalesce into snow people.

5) Talking about the weather events of 1978.

(In actuality, reading a book by a fire is what you should do)

Comments:
Here, number one is "fighting with your sister."

Everyone else gets snow and I get cold, gloppy rain.

I'm still fixing chili for dinner, which is the proper Texan reaction to winter weather.

(I also must point out that it is only Central, East and Southern Texans who fall apart in snow or icy conditions. Those of us from the Western and Northern parts of the Great State deal with this every winter.)

Kissing!

Cooking and listening to Norah Jones.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm heading over to spend the evening with anonymous 5:45 and anonymous 5:47...

I am hoping the snow in Waco doesn't make its way to Durham, NC tomorrow. I prefer the cold, gloppy rain. We have the same 5 activites here too; although I might add ice skating in your car to the list.

And to think I was starting seeds in the green house today and tossed some old lettuce and spinach seeds in the ground - just because they might grow.

Don't forget everyone's favorite: complaining about how the "roads are bad" and school/work/life should be cancelled (for the sake of the children!), when in actuality the roads are just wet and you're being lazy.

It's really just rain.

Oh, this rain
It will continue
Through the morning
As I'm listening

To the bells
Of the cathedral
I am thinking
Of your voice...

And of the midnight picnic
Once upon a time
Before the rain began...

Where is the kissing/cooking/music party?
