The Artist in Residence

[Click on the photo to enlarge it]

My dad is staying out in the guest house this week, and it has been fun to watch him work.

His subject? Congressman Barney Frank (D. Mass). Cong. Frank is a very unique looking person, and apparently he requested the portrait. If the Congressman doesn't like the painting, perhaps I will buy it and give it to RRL.

Comments:
I think Barney Frank lives in my neighborhood. A couple months ago, I was on the rooftop deck of my apartment building trying to pick up a wireless connection, and one of the networks that popped up was "Barney Frank." I've never seen him, though.

I always wonder about that, where senators and other well-known people in Washington live, and why I never see them. I guess I don't go where they go.

Looks good. I would love to hang it on my wall. I am nothing if not a sucker for irony.

Give him the pic for christmas. it will go perfect with the paintball gun and dart set i got him.

Hi Mr. Osler

The painting looks great and I think Barney will really like it!

My hope is that one day I will do something worthy of feeling okay with comissioning a portrait of myself from your dad! Maybe I can donate some money somewhere and they can hang it there, so I won't seem too pretentious? I envy Congressman Frank, he is a good man and now he is also a lucky one.
