Iran
I am reading about what is going on in Iran, but I'm baffled in part by the news. I want to be outraged by the government and cheer on the protesters, but it seems unclear whether there was a problem with the election at all. While the government certainly should be condemned for cracking down on the protesters, this is one of those things where the point of conflict seems to be unimportant relative to other things going on.
One of those things is a demographic time bomb. Iran has a majority of its population under 30, which is more of a baby boom than even the US experienced in the 60's. And we all know what that was like here...
What should the US do?

Keep our imperialist noses out of it. Let the people of Iran win their freedom on their own, and be quick to recognize the legitimacy of the new government and extend the olive branch.
Change your twitter timezone to Iran time so the government has more false leads to track down. Also I love how the state department is keeping websites the revolution uses up and running around scheduled maintenance outages. Vive la revolution!

We should NOT listen to those blustering hawks in our own Congress who demand our government somehow intervene (though they don't say how) ... but who are really trying to score political points with the Far Right electorate.
Seems to me what we're doing right now seems the right way to go, especially given our dismal track record of interfering with other governments in the past ... which is why much of the world doesn't trust us.

I'm not sure there is any question as to whether or not there was a problem with the vote, when it's been reported that in certain areas, more votes were cast than there were eligible voters!
That said, I agree with Lane and tswain. The more we do or say, the more credence we give to those inside Iran who decry "outside agitators."
