I've been having some strange dreams...

Last night, I gave an interview for channel 10 in my front yard, since they wanted to talk during "The Simpsons" and were willing to come over. The reporter, Eli Ross, did an excellent job, despite the weird location.

My dreams have been much stranger than that. Here are three that I have had more than once:

1) Prof. Serr has a talk show on CNN, but it is scheduled for only ten minutes. In the episode I am watching, he has invited a professor from another school who has a bunch of bad ideas. At the end of the segment, Prof. Serr says, "Well, I wish I hadn't invited this guy."

2) I'm working on a case at a courthouse in Tennessee. Going into the hallway during a break, I see Joe Hoelscher coming into the lobby wearing a suit and... a wedding veil. (For what it's worth, he isn't getting married-- it is case-related) I ask him what is going on, and he says it is "a long story."

3) I come down for breakfast and find that there is a crudely built 6-foot tall robot eating all my Cheerios. He's messy, too-- like the Cookie Monster, he just chews stuff but doesn't swallow, so the Cheerios just go spilling all over the place.

I would welcome any interpretations.

Comments:
Those are really interesting at least. I have a recurring dream, that I have grown a TAIL.

Yeah.

I wake up one morning with a tail and then my biggest concern is NOT how did I get this tail BUT
WHAT KIND OF CLOTHES can I wear that will fit this tail? Am I gonna have to buy new clothes? or put holes in my existing clothes.

The dream is always all about the clothes. NEVER EVER once do I wonder how I got the tail.

SO stupid.

Ok I have to ask now...

WHAT THE HECK is it with YOU and BEARS???????

How many pictures of bears do you actually have?

Baylor's mascot is a bear. There's one on campus. I think it's a ninja, too.

...anyway, that should explain the pics of bears. I hope. Unless Osler's cheating on our bear...which would make the ninja very angry.

That is the Baylor bear, in the Homecoming parade.

Hmm, sounds like Osler has too much on his plate and feels overwhelmed, (Cheerios/Serr guest= ideas?) and perhaps confused about how to organize them (veil over great lawyer) and Tyd is stressing about her appearance in an upcoming event (play or performance?). Vague interpretations, I know but y'all's dreams are waaay more entertaining than mine, which involve me answering phone calls about the upcoming elections. Boring!

Ginger, if I have questions about the election (and I do), I should call you?

I think the robot represents the current political machine and the fact that its messily consuming everything.

Well...I do sort of get paid to answer some of those questions, the law-related ones anyway. But please don't ask me who you should vote for, you are on your own there! :)

Is that bear in the dream? He seems a little weird.

Ok I know that is the mascot, but what do you mean that is the Baylor Bear... I mean the school has a REAL BEAR??? Like an at-the-zoo kind of bear?

Are you crazy? Bears kill people.... they bring it to the parade??? On a leash?????

No wonder I hear that everyone in Texas is armed, when people are walking bears on leashes.

WOW.

Hate to go on about the bears but that has to be against some city ordinance. Like how we wanted to bring the goat back to our new house and apparently the city has a problem with that.

I don't see why...never heard of a killer goat....

Every few years, I have the same dream. I wake up and, in a panic, I realize that I am late for class. Not only late, but I have never been to that class all semester. And I don't know where it is. I run up and down vaguely high school-looking hallways. There is only one test and it is being given today ... and I can't find the classroom because I have never been.

I finally confessed this unhappy dream to a group of college professors this year AND EVERY ONE OF THEM SAID THEY HAVE HAD A VERSION OF THAT DREAM ... sometimes every few months.

I don't know what it means. But I would rather dream about bears.

RFDIII

I think you can pretty safely say that if Serr has a talk show and he only talks for 10 minutes, you can pretty much guarantee that you're dreaming.

RFD3--

Check.

But why do I still have it? I only give finals now...

First off, a 10 minute show is way beyond the attention span of your average Cable News watcher.

My recurring dreams involve NEVER QUITE getting to where I want to be or always missing a connection or something. Not much interpretation needed there.

Tyd, perhaps you're dreaming that you've become a bear. Which would explain how horrified you are at the notion of bears at Baylor.

I've seen the Baylor bear. BORING! He must be pretty heavily drugged. Probably after that time he drank all the Dr. Pepper and went after Prof. Osler's flamethrower.

It's true-- I didn't let him borrow my flamethrower, which he thought was unfair since I had lent it out already to several people, including IPLawGuy and Craig Pankratz.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my... and don't forget the goats.

I dream about being licked to death by Labrador Retrievers - oops that's not a dream.

Tyd - I suppose you could argue that you use your goat for a lawn mowing service. Wouldn't that fly with the green revolution in Oregon. They have rent-a-goat here in Durham. Or perhaps a fledgling goat milk cheese business

I had a very weird dream last night. I was at work, but instead of wearing the usual navy blue scrubs, I was wearing sort of a 1980's style flight attendant uniform, complete with scarf and pumps. It made it VERY difficult to work, the scarf, I mean...

I frequently dream of being at work, so that was nothing new. At least I wasn't redecorating a doghouse ;)

Mrs. CL

That bear has no reason to be miffed. Prof. Osler won't lend his flamethrower to just anyone. Just look at who he trusted with it!

I don't think Osler's dreams are all that strange, unless they all happened in the same night.

Wow, I might be dreaming of Mrs. CL in her flight attendant outfit next!

Mrs. CL--

The night before Thanksgiving, will you come over in full Braniff gear? Please?

You know, I thought I would Buy American a few years back for a lawn mower We bought a Craftsman at Sears it died in less than a year. But any lawn mower SERIOUSLY DOES put out a lot of smoke and crud if they would let me get a goat in stead of a mower I would.

I am surprised in Oregon that they will not. But interestingly enough the goat at the Goat Farm did not eat a lot of grass. It had this mulberry bush it ate from a lot. It also ate this stuff called COB which is like some crap goats like that I got at the Wilco Farm Store. They only sell it in fifty pound bags, so we had about 40 lbs left when we moved out so I left it all there for the goat.

I hate Monkeys.

OK. Just looked it up and found out the COB is a mixture of Corn Oats and Barley. There are two kinds: Wet cob and dry cob. "Wet Cob" is not wet it is just coated with molasses. The goat loved it. Most goats do.

So when you get a goat, feed that to it.

And that is your Large Animal Veterinarian Lesson for Today.

Tyd,

What in the world does that have to do with Bears or Dreams? Or sexy flight attendant outfits?

I think you will be OK as long as it is not Prof. Serr sitting at your breakfast table, Cherrios spilling out from beneath his wedding vail covered face, mumbling "It's a long story."
