Haiku Friday Tonight, All Right!

I have music on my mind, and that's not a bad thing in these troubled times. So now, we should turn to music and haiku (and speaking of haiku, check out Kouji's haiku blog for better poems than mine).

The one and only theme this week is concerts, the best and worst.

You might expect from the title of this post that Black Flag was my favorite concert, but you would be wrong. [and what's the deal with Henry Rollins wearing the Brooks Residential College t-shirt in the Black Flag Video above?]

My real favorite was the Ramones:

Warehouse in summer
Two hours of three minute songs--
Gabba gabba hey!

Now it is your turn...

Comments:
Speaking of concerts
I don't think I ever heard
Which will Osler choose?

Posh, Scary, Sporty
"Iffya wanna be my lover..."
Song stuck in my head.

Surprisingly, I
found Tori Amos to be
sublime in concert.

Profs and H. Rollins?
That is not Powell's Answer
"Eye of The Tiger."

Young George Thorogood,
Fleetwood Mac on "Rumours" Tour,
Springsteen before "Born"

Webb Wilder, Ramones,
Oingo Boingo, Los Lobos
Jesus - Mary Chain

Best show ever though,
Country Dick Montana and
Beat Farmers - Long Beach

Number one for me?
H.R. Puffinstuff on ice!
Is that a concert?

Pope, decision made.
Ben Folds, Stubbs, the 25th-
Got lots of good tips!

Summer, Tom Petty
Ex boyfriend high on cocaine
Not a great moment
I was still happy
though, when he played my theme song
"Free Fallin'". Oh, Tom!

Dallas, Rage Against
The Machine and The Roots. Not
for the politics.

Or, Radiohead
with Spiritualized. Fair Park.
OK Computer.

Seen Wilco five times.
They get better every time.
Once with R.E.M.

Reunited Van
Halen. The Who. Speedwagon.
Old guys that still rock.

Those were good, but the
tops has to be Robert's drum
solo in Dallas.

Van Morrison. Twice.
Public Enemy one time.
Bruce Cockburn one time.

But I also saw
The original Three Stooges
Live and onstage, friends.

It was '62.
Spokane, Washington.
But no Curly Joe.

Worst show? No question:
Michael Jackson's Victory
Tour. Bloody awful.

RFDIII

Tom Petty Dallas
Surprise guest was Stevie Nix
I was in heaven

Never saw Tom Petty
He is a thin, thin fellow
Scarecrow with guitar.

Dropkick Murphys and
the Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Irish Drinkin Fest

Stooges! RFD wins
Unless one can claim Beatles
BEFORE they got big.

(Stones or Yardbirds would work too)

Wait, we're talking Iggy and the Stooges, right?

Moody Blues,'80's:
Stranger passed me a Ciggy.
Wacky Tobaccy....

I was like 15.
Terrified. "uhmm, Ok, Thanks."
Passed it to next guy.

"Late Bloomer" does not
even begin to describe it.
I was TOTAL DORK.

I still don't know why
Uncle Joe was afraid to
cut the cake. How Sad.

Bill just told me that
"Fire Lake" means Hell. Still doesn't
explain Uncle Joe

Went to Brooks College
With a six-pack of bad beer
Post was misleading!

1983
At Hill Auditorium
A haze of pot smoke

Two thirteen year-olds
Balcony seats for The Tubes
An education

Pete's mother tells him
About the coming divorce
On way to the show

I still miss my friend Pete

Hey, Sleepy Walleye;
Gives new meaning to a song:
Tubes' "Talk to You Later"

privacy is dead
facebook deleted, bye blog
no mission laughter

John over-reacts
And deletes the blog, and 'book
Could have toned it down...

Queen of the Night pops
From a refrigerator:
Zurich Opera stage.

There was dry ice, too;
Mozart meets Led Zep, but with
Much diff'rent singing.

Guided by Voices:
Beer-soaked tunes and scissor kicks.
"The club is open."

Mine? Bad Religion
Stubb's. Austin. The Empire Strikes First.
Sang Generator.

jess doesn't get it
privacy is gone and dead
sadly shot to death

Victory Tour
Jackson 5 as was my age
I was scared to death

Snowing in Reno,
Watching the blue hairs lose it,
Smoking in Reno.

i am quite jealous
you get black flag and ramones
i get reformed misfits

Only grew a gut
marky sells his autographs
dez may be on crack
nothing if not washed up

the briefs were the best
despite having a migraine
which was worse post-pit
