A brief programming note

After giving the Constitution Day lecture at McLennan Community College today at 2:30, I'm heading over to channel 10 here in Waco to talk about the second amendment on KWTX's "Live at Five." It's a busy Constitution Day!

Comments:
Look everyone, Osler's trying to join the liberal media!

Is that like "Themedia Elite?"

Ahhh, the second amendment. The one part of the Constitution the current administration wants to uphold.

I recently read an article that said that in 2009 the Texas Legislature will be considering a bill to allow concealed carry license holders to carry on college campuses. I look forward to that bill's passage.

Kudos to the good professor for his efforts today! I don't think it's against the Code of Judicial Conduct to say I appreciate what you are doing today to educate and inform about the importance of the U.S. Constitution. (Although I guess I should wait until I hear what you say on the news . . .).
Mr. CL

Justin T, you are surely kidding??

I hate to open this can of worms, but I just really, really don't understand why anyone would want to carry a gun around with them, unless they're a cop. And why is it important for an ordinary citizen to be able to carry a gun on a college campus, unless you want to shoot someone? I just don't get it.

No no, save that for thursday!

I kind of agree with dallas_ada. I'd love to discuss the issue of concealed carry, but I think it's better relegated to a Political Mayhem Thursday. Professor Osler, any thoughts?

Let's do it, tomorrow.

Awesome. I am gonna go home and practice my gun totin' until then.

All right, gun-totin guys. I don't want the Second-Amendment arguments about whether we do or do not have a right to carry a gun. I want to know WHY you feel like you need to tote one, and why you're so excited that you might be able to carry one into Osler's classroom, or any other place at Baylor.

I can tell you why I would be excited, Osler has repeatedly threatened to send the ATF after me so I feel the need for protection. Not only that, Guinn came up and "tried" to fix my tie in the hallway and seemed intent on choking me!
While my classmates seem to think I'd be the most likely to be on trial, I could see a few of them pulling out glocks in T&E, "Inception of title this!"

Hmm, I don't know if I even can legally carry a gun in TX. I can't say I feel the need to do so.

We'll have to get Carson Runge's take on the issue tomorrow. It is only right that the classmate known as "Gunslinger" chime in.

LDT, that means Guinn likes you.

And if you think T&E makes you want to pack heat, wait till you get to PC. Prof. Powell probably will be carrying a gun on random days, so there is a very real possibility that if you flub the rule of optional completeness (which has saved my butt in court, no lie) he might just kneecap you. For pedagogical purposes.

I didn't want to leave this on your PM Thursday topic, but we (more like me, Mr. CL snoring at that time) caught a brief glimpse of you on the 10:00 news.

Your hair looked great. :)

Mrs. CL

Oh, that. After I gave the interview for 5 o'clock, they asked me about that stuff for 10 o'clock (Billy Joe Shaver) as I was going out the door. You might have been able to tell that the interview was on the loading dock...
