I don't care what anyone says, Detroit is beautiful. Even the burnt out buildings and falling apart homes are awesome. Its probably an acquired taste but I love it there.

Funny how so many cities that were once eyesores -- Baltimore, Pittsburg, Cleveland -- have been transformed ... vibrant, fun, full of people ... I can only hope that for Detroit someday.

Detroit, unfortunately, isn't so full of people. It's record of depopulation is incredible-- from 2 million down to about 900,000 or less. (actually, I think i saw that stat on the razor).

The funny thing is, it grew nearly as fast. The auto industry was one of the few places that allowed everyone -- including African-Americans -- a place to work ... when other parts of the country wouldn't welcome them. Detroit deserves better than GM's bungling leadership ...
