Oral Roberts Univ. Disaster-topia

I've always been wary of those who hold themselves out as entitled to wealth because of their Christian faith. This item, which I found on the Ladybird's blog, only confirms the problems with this view.

Sigh.

Comments:
I would not want to be on the ORU side of this case. The Plaintiff's counsel is a very good lawyer, and does not file these cases lightly.

Agreed Prof. Osler. It's hard to take the so-called "health/wealth" people seriously. The Gospel doesn't promise an easy life of riches. In fact, Jesus promised quite the opposite.

People shouldn't be attracted to Christianity because of material success or earthly comfort, but instead for the inner peace that comes from reconciliation with the Creator and the promise of eternity spent with him.

Jeffy, well said.

The President of the University has said publicly that God has told him to deny the charges.

A friend of mine just sent this to me. Apparently our shame has made it to CNN.

I can't believe I spent 4 years listening to this man.
