Need a Witness? Would you like to BE a witness?

Ms. Hendricks, who seems to be pretty smart, suggested in the comments section that I help PC students connect with potential witnesses for exercises. SO-- if you are not in PC right now and might be interested in investing an hour or so in legal education at Baylor, leave a note in the comment section. Especially for those not at the law school, it is a pretty fascinating experience. For those at law school, it is a great way to get ready for PC.

If you are potential witness:

Leave a message in the comment section. If you are at baylor, leave at least your full name so someone can find you.

If you a PC student in dire need of a witness:

Place your ad in the comments section, being sure to list any proper or improper inducements you are willing to offer.

Comments:
Does the photo illustrate the experience of being a PC witness? If so, I'm in!

I think that person is making barbecue. It is a barbecue case.

I'd be willing to play witness and help someone out in exchange for a little good PC karma. I think it's pretty tacky to take, ahem, "inducements" for something that y'all are as in need of as this (and that I'll inevitably be in need of), so no need to offer. If you desperately want to, I wouldn't say no to a Diet Dr. Pepper. Feel free to e-mail if you need a female witness. I have a very unique name and I hate the thought of employers googling me (in more ways than one), so if you use the Baylor mail Outlook program and "check names" - I'm the only Anastasia whose last name starts with a V.

"I'll do it my Lord. I cannot draw a cart nor eat dried oat, but if it be mans' work, I'll do it."

Umm . . . I've been saving that Shakespeare quote for awhile now.

Anyway, I love witnessing, particularly for people I know. If you need, help shoot this untrained, unpaid, unproven thespian an e-mail and I'll see what I can do.

I took a lot of inducements of the $50 variety, but only while I was in PC. If anybody ever wondered why I fought so hard for the folks who had me on direct, that was why. In fact, I'd even be willing to witness now for the right inducement, esp. on a Fri afternoon. And for future reference, I know all the parts for Titanic, including engineering and nautical standard of care. Testifying witness only, though. Lol.

Non-PCers who help out WILL get good Kharma. I did it and it paid better than $50.

Sure, I'll witness. Why not? I'm in for some good karma. And while it's strange to say it in a law-school-affiliated setting, my first name is Sarah.

Si alguien necesita un testigo que solo habla español, me pueden mandar un emilio. No sé si tendré tiempo, pero también acepto sobornos o incentivos como dicen aquí. Gracias.

I ran the Medievalist's message through one of those free spanish-english translators (that do kind of a lousy job), and here is how it came out:

If someone needs a witness that alone Spanish speech, they can send me an emilio. I do not know if I will have time, but also I accept bribes or incentives as say here. Thanks.

I'm assuming that if you do send him an Emilio, he should be carrying the bribe.

The Medievalist would be a great witness.

Is a "witness with inducements" anything like a "friend with benefits"?

I book up fast, but I'm happy to help out if my schedule is open. I'd rather do a case that I'm already familiar with since I suspect I'm going to be witnessing just about every day there's an exercise:

Burger King

Little boy drowns in chemical pit

Physical trainer gets mentally unstable woman to kill her romantic rival

Gun store owner's beneficiary gets the shaft from life insurance company

Girl on "gentle" horse becomes the filling in tree-and-horse sandwich

Ficklin v Scott & White

Titanic (only if I really have to)

"Big Gun" lawnmower kills little girl's eye

No compensation or "inducement" required. Helping friends is what Papa Arguello is here for.

I'd really like to play witness, but I have requirements.
1. m&m's in a glass bowl - an equal number of browns and reds only.
2. a podiatrist, on call in case of emergency.
3. Airfare from Minneapolis-St.Paul Intl.
4. Space in Prof O's barn to camp out.

Sleepy Walleye--

It's improper at this point to mention Minneapolis/St. Paul Intl. Airport without using the phrase "wide stance."

Thank you.

Damn you, Swanburg. I was going to use my Army of Darkness quote.

But yes, if any PC student needs the services of a witness, I'm usually available after 3:30 everyday. I'm 6'0", dirty blond, non-smoker who enjoys:

- Gourmet cuisine
- Large, comfy couches
- Caffeine Free Diet Dr. Pepper
- Koalas

All inquiries may be sent to: lee@leecarver.com

Lee, I don't think shouting that "This is my boomstick!" is going to win you any witnessing gigs. A koala sidekick might though.

Ok, this sounds kinda fun. I'm all about bribes, so I'll need someone to cook, clean and generally keep me entertained (oh wait, the CL does all that!)

Can I bring my flamethrower?

i need a male witness!!!!

E-mail me!

Friday at 3, police brutalty case.

Mrs. CL,

You have a flamethrower? WAY COOL! Bring it to the Osler Manse when we're in Waco next weekend, please!

Wish I still lived in Waco (for the limited purpose of witnessing). I would be all over this.

I would love to brush up on procedure and evidence.

Plus, I'm told it's a great treatment for post-PC PTSD.

I need a witness for Friday at 1 pm. I need both male and female.

Please email me.
