Top Gun Results

I know they usually say that any mock trial competition was "really close," but in this case, it really was both close and very well-played by both sides. In the championship of the Top Gun mock trial tournament, Aaron Mutnick (pictured here) edged out Julie Ross after both had vanquished several foes on their path to the finals.

By my count, that means that 3/4 of the Top Gun finalists since we started the competition took Criminal Practice before starting PC. [a little shameless plug there]

Comments:
Uh....I don't wanna rain on anyone and their parade, but uh...Chuck Norris wasn't in Top Gun...So he must just be shining his glory upon the efforts in the post.

Well done to both.

And once again, thanks to Baylor Law for giving me yet another outlet for my inner redneck.

The truth is, there is no Top Gun. Just those of us lawyers Chuck Norris allows to live.

But my favorite...

When God said 'Let there be light' Chuck Norris said 'Say Please'.

Mutnick kind of looks like that...

I may actually be EMPLOYED!!! I got a part time job working for a guy I know, who has a franchise of a company. The guy is our neighbor in our former neighborhood, and On Thursday I have to go with him to a meeting with a guy from corporate and guess where it is? The Airport hotel!!!! Excitement plus. BUT!!!! I am getting out of my house AND my neighborhood for a total of like 20 - 30 hours week to start, and that makes me happy. I start next Monday. The weird news is that the job is in our OLD neighborhood, in that guy's HOUSE to be exact. His name is Matt and he is married to Holly, and they have FOUR count em FOUR kids all under the age of six. YIKES!! His only real office is in his house so I will be working there... but I like their family and i have known them for about three years. THey are really really a nice family and if I can help Matt out and have a job too, that is good. The job is perfect for me. AND I work about 4 hours a day to start and then I can spend the afternoons at my OLD HOUSE four houses away getting out the rest of our crap so they can tear it down. I will have to be there at the old house a lot anyway, and also to get the mail, so I think it could work out for a while. I do have a LOT to do in building the new house plus research to do for my attorney so I cannot really handle a FULL time thing but this is good. It does not pay as well as Seven Habits and the Nerdy Habiteers, but I do not have to put up with his 73 emails a day or his stupid posters from SUCCESSORIES and all of that crap.

Matt's business is a company that installs like outdoor accent lighting on people's houses to sort of make their houses look good at night.. because it is a franchise so much of the stuff is already established, and a lot of the systems are already in place. I will be sort of running the office, sort of also being an Administrative Assistant - doing some books stuff, doing some inside sales some marketing, all kinds of stuff. I am looking forward to it - looking forward to getting out of my rental house everyday for just a little while and thinking about something else for a change. I am extremely happy to get back to work even at a little job like this. What this means for the Razor fans is that MAYBE I will have a teeny bit less time to whine on and on about insignificant things. Unless I can somehow make a career out that. Any ideas? It seems to work for Andy Rooney....

Congratulations on your job, Tyd! (That other job with the Habiteers and the 700 emails a day and his posters sort of reminds me of the movie "Office Space." Did you ever see that? It's great for a bit of perspective.)

And congratulations to the PC'ers!

uhhhhhmmm yeahhh. did ya get that memo??
