Grand Central Station

Whenever things were noisy in the background during a phone call, my Mom would say "where are you, Grand Central Station?" For this reason, I now enjoy calling her from there, if possible.

Grand Central became beautiful again after they did a very simple thing-- unblock the huge windows. Legend has it that they were first blocked off to protect from air raids in World War II, and then the coverings were sold as advertising space. Decades later, just a few years ago, they finally came down and the light came back in. It was a wonderful choice.

Comments:
Well, I think you can thank Mrs Onassis for that renovation. I think she played a huge role in that.

Well i have to go buy or price an overpriced used hybrid car, which is very very expensive. Also at 5 PM it is the time I have been dreading.. PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES at PRESCHOOL.

Apparantly SPencer has been acting out a little hitting, spitting and yelling. YUCK!!!! I blame Donut. he is a very bad influence. Yesterday he taught Spencer how to make a Manhattan.

ALso tomorrow is the Mothers Day Tea at preschool and I suppose I shoudl WANT to go to that but I am not excited about it. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I am not very domestic or into the mom thing. I wish Bill could go in my place....

ALso we MAY have found a place to live!!!!! Cross your fingers we find out tonight. it is in Wilsonville, right near Spencer's school

Wilsonville! Is that the place with the giant octopus statue that moves around and grabs kids, and the one house where the people don't mow their lawn?

The place with the great statuary in Oregon is Grant's Pass. They have a giant caveman.

As for train stations, I am looking forward to the day when they move Penn Station into the old Post Office across the street.

Wilsonville may be out... but there are other places we will be fine.

Oh and get this. Grants Pass? We have to go thru there to get to and from California when we go. I CANNOT and HAVE NEVER driven thru that place without calling it by its TRUE name that I always think of... GRANT's PANTS.
THen I think what kind of pants were they? gabardine? wool? Who was Grant, anyway, and why did they name a whole town for his pants?

We had the P/T Conference at Spencer's preschool..
Donut is a real problem. Spencer needs to use his words and learn to express himself better and all of this.

Tomorrow night I guess I HAVE TO attend the Mother;'s tea. UGH... But good news! Last week I volunteered Bill to be a chaperone on the Nature Walk tomorrow morning. Bill and the Soccer Moms and like 20 three year olds... all learning about moss and pine cones...

Paybacks are a You know what.

Oh and those stupid PRIUSes are EXPENSIVE... I mean even the used ones.. not inthe scheme of things I guess, but for what they really are I mean they are like the size of a a a PINTO or something and they are like 25K MORE than a purse for Paris Hilton!!!!

we might get a used one or maybe not or maybe a used Pacifica I really liked driving that rental one we had for a week. I mean it was big and weird looking but I felt safe in it yet it was not a total gas pig. Very nerdy though,, but then I am a nerd. I wear nerdy shoes, clothes, I have nerd hair, and I need a nerdmobile you know?

we have found this really nice car salesmen named CHUCK BAGGS yes that is his real name. He has promised to give us a deal on a used car because we have no second car and also because he got to sell us TWO vans in the last four months.. Chuck loves us.

We will be careful.

When was the last time anyone saw a Ford Pinto on the road? Or a Chevy Chevette? Those things used to be ubiquitous.
