It's Me and Puckett!
Raymond Puckett is one of many people who graduated today whom I will truly miss. I hope that since Mr. Puckett's fiance is still in the student body, we will continue to see him.
For those of you who weren't there, two of the highlights of the graduation were Heather Davenport's student address (pictured below) and Jeremy Counseler's excellent graduation speech, which was probably the best I have heard since I have come to Baylor-- and that's staying something.

I concur wholeheartedly. Counseller's speech was absolutely fantastic. The class chose wisely in its commencement speaker. He was 2nd on my ballot, behind me, of course.
He and Ms. Davenport made for a graduation that not even Toben could sour...and THAT'S really saying something.

No, the dean is a good man. He just wasn't on his game today. The whole show was just wonderful, though, and I have to say that graduating from Baylor Law School is a very, well, fun thing to do. I had a lot of fun today, and I think that's exactly as it should be.
Congratulations to everyone, and kudos to Osler for taking the first on-the-dais lay photographer picture ever during the ceremony!

That may be the worst photo ever taken of me- my dad took the picture, and bless his heart, he just isn't ready for digital photography
WJC gave a great speech- as did Heather

That's not true. Not even by a long shot. The worst one of you is the one Rebecca took of you at my birthday. You have one eye shut and are sticking out your tongue in that one.
No, Father Puckett is not ready for digital photography.

WJC completely nailed it. Heather did too. My family was impressed with both speakers, sure, but I think that they were also truly moved by their honesty and sincerity.
I thought Toben's gaffes were funny--they kind of lightened things up.
All in all, a pretty good day.
