The Happiest Graduate
There were other competitors, but Florencia Rueda probably had the most noise from the audience at commencement. Her family had an impressive array of equipment-- air horns, cow bells, roman candles, etc.-- and used them at length.
And it was well deserved. I know that she helped me many times with my projects, sometimes even though she wasn't getting credit for it. Flo was a top student at Baylor, and is one of those who will go on to approach the law the way she did at Baylor-- with passion, vigor, intelligence, and a keen sense of justice. There is a problem out there that she will solve through the law, and that's the best any of us can do.

Well, I wasn't very grown-up today. I took pictures from the stage, hugged Chris Frankenthoffer (AND a somewhat mortified Puckett) during the ceremony, and, for the invocation, used that bit from Talledega Nights where Ricky Bobby says grace to the "sweet 8 lb. 4 oz. Baby Jesus."
Flo, don't leave!!!!!! It's evil, but I'm kind of glad ya'll still have Barbri so I can see ya'll all the time.
