IPLawGuy To Visit Waco!

IPLawguy, IPLawWife, and IPLawBaby will be coming to Waco in mid-January! I have found it hard to get people to visit me here (Detroit wasn't much better, frankly), but IPLawGuy actually has gotten to appreciate the same things I do about Waco. Plus, he loves the Health Camp. On previous visits, he has stopped at the Camp even before coming to my house. Surprisingly, he is still alive.

IPLawguy has a pretty intriguing back story. I met him in college, when he was in charge of the radio station. He liked rockabilly, studied political science, knew a ton about tunes, was known as "The Duke," and frequently wore a red ruffled-front pirate shirt and carried a ceremonial sword. After college, he worked for John McCain for several years, and I think he still wore that shirt. Then he went back to law school, where his nickname was "Stumpy Pete," for reasons I don't know. Now, he is a big-shot IP lawyer in DC, and his nickname is "Deathstar," for reasons I also don't know.

I'm thinking of bringing him out for some Foosball.

Comments:
It looks like your buddy might be hitting the Skunge pretty hard.

That's why they call him "Stumpy Pete," no doubt.

I am truly horrible at Foosball. We even had a table in our basement when we were kids. My little brothers kicked my butt on a regular basis.

Hand-eye coordination is not amongst my talents. I am, however, pretty good at drinking beer.

Costco - DO you have those in Texas? They have a Foosball Table for sale!!! I saw it while looking for an overpriced mixer for my brother and his new wife.

There the Expensive Model: $449 It is sort of MISSION/STICKLEY style and looks like it might belong in the lobby of plastic surgeon's office or something.

OR for the Low Low price of $399 (ON SALE RIGHT NOW!!!) you can get the "rustic" model.

www.Costco.com While Supplies last.

Sadly, even iplawguy as pictured could single handedly beat my intramural team in just about anything.

I did play a mean game of thumper. And I coached a team of 10 and 11 year kids to a soccer championship while in college.

I'm also good at trivia games

When IPLawGuy visits, me and Ron plan to take his beer after he falls asleep in front of some Nintendo game.

This is an excellent blog. I'm glad I discovered it. We should get together at some point—we are neighbors, after all!

Hey, Rob-- Glad you like it! Feel free to comment anytime...

I can't believe I left my wallet in my work pants and missed out on that WII the other morning. At least the ol' Festiva has plenty of gas, thanks to my big lottery win.

I love that Festiva, man.

I watched "Little Man" at work on Thursday (not of my own volition), and the Grandpa in it is from Detroit. Periodically throughout the movie, he yells "You can't mess with me! I'm from Detroit!" I thought of you ever time it happened.

Do you REALLY drive a Festiva?

Wow. I thought my CrapVan was bad... IF you ever want to borrow it, I am in Oregon. From Texas I guess you would drive to Idaho and then Turn Left.

My alter ego, James Anchower, has the Festiva. I don't think it would be a reliable car to drive from Texas to Oregon... or Virginia (which is where I am) to Oregon.

For that kind of trip I would want my old Plymouth Satellite.

No... From Virginia to Oregon you would want a Ford Escort probably.

Any car would be OK as long as it went fast (that disqualifies the Escort) and had a good sound system. Maybe your minivan.. minus the inflatable penguin and stuff.
