Mr. Happy Cow

What should I make of the following email from "Randy Whittle?":

"Prof. Osler--

I was your student in 1984, in the class of the law. Study the law and the boy and happy of the cow. Now to work in New York, sell phone to country and the people of the land. To send me the check, reply here to this address."

It is oddly personalized to be general spam, but doesn't seem to be from anyone who actually knows me. For example, I was not teaching the class of the law in 1984; I was a college sophomore at the time.

I am interested in finding out more about the happy of the cow, though.

Comments:
Happy the cow...that gets milked often? I'm a little fuzzy on what this means. I've looked for "happy cows" ( http://www.fiscalinifarms.com/images/happy_cow.jpg ) but I don't think that that is what this is about. Where are you supposed to send that check?

It must have something to do with your movie-going experience re: Borat.

My happiness is beside myself reading this post.

I'm assuming this is some 'cultish' reference to vegetarian/vegan cuisine.

It's a conspiracy I tell you!

The Happy of the Cow sounds kind of like the name of one of those bands our former college radio station Music Director, "Cloudia" would have put on heavy rotation.

I think you've been contacted by a David Sedaris excerpt.

I would pay these goons off. As much as it hurts to bend to these kinds of intimidation tactics, you are a man with a lot to lose and these guys sound like they mean business! These guys obviously did their homework checking you out; start checking your rear view mirror for people trailing you to and from work. I'd also invest in a little more "protection" to keep on your person.

BTW, "Randy Whittle" sounds kind of like how someone carving phallic symbols would describe his or her work.

I wrote back to "Randy Whittle" saying that I had the check all ready but needed a street address. I will keep you posted.

Perhaps Randy was learning "the law" of dorm life when you were an RA at W&M. You did run a pretty tight ship with the Freshmen, so I've heard.

--and you were a Junior and Senior in 1984, not a Sophomore.

Oh, that's right... I was a sophomore and junior in 1983. And you, I think, were a sophomore in 1934, right?

I think he has a deal on cattle futures. Go for it! It worked for Hillary!!

Okay. So, I went and googleimaged "happy of the cow".
This is what it came up with.

I am more confused than ever.
