PMT: Oh, Canada!

 It seems that Canadians get much more value for their federal tax dollars than we do:
 

 What's intriguing to me here is that Canadians pay less federal tax than we do, but seem to get much more out of it (including health care). 

Playing into this are the facts that we have a much less efficient (and less effective) health care system, and we spend much more for defense.  Canada also lags the US in GDP per capita.
 
Still, what our respective governments deliver for what we pay is worth considering.  

In addition, the existence of national paid parental leave and the high unionization rate augur well for workers. It's worth noting that some states (including mine) do provide paid parental leave.
