Poems, from angry to resigned....
On the election, you told your truth. This came from CraigA:
Desiree had a tough task:
I looked at a class
of sad, scared faces Wednesday.
Tried to give them hope.
of sad, scared faces Wednesday.
Tried to give them hope.
Christine sought refuge:
I left Florida
Returned to my blue enclave
in woods, cocooning
Listening to jazz
And audio books so many,
Swimming clears my head.
Returned to my blue enclave
in woods, cocooning
Listening to jazz
And audio books so many,
Swimming clears my head.
The Medievalist.... well, he's in Texas:
Texas just parties,
The just love Ted Cruz a lot,
It bewilders me.
The just love Ted Cruz a lot,
It bewilders me.
Jill Scoggins had a rough evening:
Falling asleep then
waking up. Hoping results
are diff’rent. They’re not.
waking up. Hoping results
are diff’rent. They’re not.
And Anonymous steers us to the right task:
Love your neighbor, no
exceptions - such a hard task,
but I have to try.
exceptions - such a hard task,
but I have to try.

Tough Task . . . Sought Refuge . . . Well . . . A Rough Evening . . . Love Your Neighbor . . . Sunday's Reflection . . .
Thoughts All, return mine to those of a 22-year old nursing mother from the past . . .
"Father, how is this possible? When I knew you not, I knew you first. Unknowingly, I was blessed to be raised in your presence through the love of my parents and family. Blessed to have been nurtured by your children, and blessed to have helped nurture their children.
"I knew you not, and you filled my heart with your unconditional love; my spirit, my soul, you embraced with your gift of Spirit.
"Before I knew you, I was invited to respond: 'For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me. I was ill and you comforted me, in prison and you came to visit me.'
"Questions, concerns and fear from most quarters swirl about . . . from within the minds of others, often including the darkest caves and crevices within their hearts. My questions, you illuminate from the Light within. In your presence Lord, Evil always retreats . . . your Light Evil can tolerate not.
“ 'Where did that come from? Where did she come from? How does she do it? Who is she?' ”
"Father, you know. Praise be given to the Holy Spirit, your beloved Son, and you, our heavenly Father.
"I cannot profess denial. You are my all. Lord, give me strength to endure. Although, how can I endure and not endanger those I love, all your children whom I love? Lord?
"At birth, you fill each of your children’s hearts completely with your unconditional love. You bestow on us the gift of the Holy Spirit, and promise that at the end of our Earthly lives you will welcome us home. Through the sacrifice of your beloved Son, death has been overcome, and an eternal place has been prepared for us.
"For this and more, I struggle to implore you in personal prayer. For your response my heart already knows: ‘Perpetua, what can you possibly seek that has not already been given you, and whom might you possibly seek to be with that is not ever present?’
"Heavenly Father, please watch over Sirius (her son), Caelius (her husband), and my family and loved ones, and guide them home. And thank you for watching over me and giving me today, and if you are pleased with my attempts to be your presence in the world, please give me tomorrow."
