I should have figured that my dad would have an excellent haiku about the colors of summer-- above is a picture of his (literal) palette, taken last time I was there. Here is his poem:

Yellow corn blue sky
burnt umber grass red sunburn
my summer colors.

Christine is thinking about her garden:

As summer passes
My gardens palette shifts
To yellow and gold.

And IPLawGuy is thinking about his beer:

Sitting in the heat
Drinking a cold beer, talking
and laughing with friends.

Actually I was longing for a backyard full of people. I can buy beer. friendship is priceless.
