Haiku Friday: Taking Risks
It's hard to take risks-- it so often takes us to places we don't want to be, or are scared of in some way. But risk-taking is fundamental to growth and accomplishment, fear and all.
Let's haiku about risks we have taken, or not taken- or risks we have seen others take. That's a pretty broad palette for you all! Here, I will go first:
The hill was too steep
For my ski abilities
But... aim, push, breathe, whoosh!
Now it is your turn! Just use the 5/7/5 syllable pattern, and have some fun....

Hi. My name’s Gavin.
I noticed your Bison shorts.
You go to school there?
(This is how I met my wife. Fortune favors the bold!)

My book on birthdays
says I was born on “The Day
of the Great Leap.” True.
Like Jerry Jeff sings,
“When a Texan fancies he'll
take chances, chances
will be taken. That’s
for sure.” I have taken mine.
I feel no regrets.
Mostly good, sometimes
hard lessons learned. In the end,
all were valuable.
Weigh risks, benefits.
Decide. Just make sure the juice
is worth the squeeze, y'all.
