Political Mayhem Thursday: Is Sean Spicer Effective?
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer had kind of an endearing moment this week when Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots briefly interrupted his press conference. Unfortunately, things have been kind of up and down for Spicer.
Is he effective? Does it matter?

Spicer is only effective in taking attention away from Trump's incompetency by displaying how incompetent Spicer is.
I agree, Waco Friend, that Spicer has too often put himself at the center of stories with unforced errors. But just imagine how difficult his job is. Essentially, go explain the inexplicable and defend the indefensible! With Trump in the Oval, it's an impossible task. And while I only have so much sympathy for (a) someone who voluntarily works for Trump and (b) forgot about the Holocaust, I do think Spicer successfully distracts from Trump's unrelenting foibles--which, in a nutshell, is his job.
We definitely need Spicer. Without Spicer, I wouldn't be able to look forward to Melissa McCarthy's bits on SNL every week.
