Kentucky!
Yesterday, before my talk at the University of Kentucky, I found myself obsessed with the sports section of the Lexington Herald-Ledger. Specifically, I was fascinated by the names of the schools listed in the high school football rankings. This place is almost as goofy as Waco! Those names included each of the following:
Paintsville
Pikeville
Paris
Hazard
Belfry
Paducah Tighman
North Bullitt
Bullitt Central
Fern Creek
Male
Manual
and, our winner:
Pleasure Ridge Park
Meanwhile, I loved the visit-- great people here, and fine hosts!

Actually, my favorite town name in MInnesota is "Norwood Young America." No idea what that is about...
According to the Minneapolis paper's high school football scores there is a Prairie Seeds.
Of course, it could be another one of those midwestern hoaxes like the famous 1930's super sized Chinese fullback who "played" for a fictional small school in the midwest, reports of whose exploits were sent to eastern newspapers and published without questioning. As the weeks passed and his deeds became more and more heroic, a reporter was put on the trail of the story, and, well you can guess how it ended.

Hoo boy!
Prairie Seeds Academy is something else. It is located in Brooklyn Park, Mn, has 800 students, was founded to preserve Hmong Culture and Literacy, has an international student body, and get this, its mascot is the LYCAN.
So what is a LYCAN? Had to look this up and what else- it is like unto a Werewolf, but is not!
If you go to one of their games, Prof, suggest a night other than Halloween, just in case.
