Social Media and Faith

I'll admit that I'm not much of an expert on social media, but I don't have the repulsion to it that some people do.  I understand the objection some have, that it pulls us away from in-person interactions, but I think that may be overstated.

My latest post over at the Huffington Post is about exactly this...

Comments:
I believe that social media has a place. In my case a very small place. I wish I had more time to catch up with old friends and meet new friends. I am too busy talking to friends or alone talking to myself. It is offensive to me to have a device in my hands at these moments. I am also offended when others choose to use their phones during a conversation. Like many things in our lives, we overuse and misuse.

Mark, you seem to have found a balance, as you you have not lost the ability to interact face to face and remain comfortable in both worlds. Social networks have not replaced personal conversation in your life. I fear, however, you are in the minority.

Fine and interesting article.

The comments by the Huffington Post commentators, not those on this bog, however, leave something to be desired. A bit snippy and wilfully off point, I thought. Thanks for striking some nerves that may have needed striking, and doing it without even trying.
