Political Mayhem Thursday: North Korea

The above graphics are part of a fascinating (and disturbing) collection of posters from North Korea. (The caption to the top one translates as "Let's extensively raise goats in all families!).

After its most recent failed missile launch and scuttling of an agreement with the US, North Korea is threatening war again.

What should US policy be regarding North Korea?

Comments:
Tell it to take a number, we will be right with it.... Give a HIGHLIGHTS and the 2 year old GLAMOUR to read while it waits.

I'm not sure, but I know this: I'm going to start using the phrase "Let's extensively raise goats in all families!" in casual conversation.

Micah, funny you mention goats... Someone walked one to my local co-op grocery yesterday and had it tied up to the fence while he (the owner) was sipping coffee on the patio.

Liz - I can add a few House Beautifuls to add to the gift package to N. Korea.

And seriously - that dog wrapped in the American flag. Is that suppose to Mitt's infamous Irish Setter or Richard Nixon's cocker spaniel "Checker's"?

I think the best policy would be to extensively raise goats in all families.

Jessica--

Here,or in North Korea?

So far, this is mayhem, but not political.

Goats are neat critters, but I think I'd rather bring up children in my family than raise kids.

Random Thought: foreign policy no longer holds the attention of the average engaged American.

We had a Rental Goat for a while He came with the Rental House that we had to live in while our Exploded House was being rebuilt. He was originally living with a bunch of guys in their early 30s who used to drink a lot and go hunting and 4 wheeling and stuff and they had named him Skeletor. Then when we moved to the house he told us we could let Spencer Name him..

So ELMO the Goat was in our lives for a while. Our dog really liked him. Elmo not a fan of AMY the DOG.... One time I was at CURVES and this lady who has a bunch of goats told me a good treat we could feed to the goat. It is called WET COB and I guess the goats JUST LOVE IT.. So I went to get some for Elmo I thought Spencer would like to feed it to him.

I went to the WILCO FARM STORE and asked them about it.. They told me that.. GOOD NEWS... It is only 9 dollars for a bag! WOW! not had.. SO I paid for it right then and there. So then after I paid for it.. I said.. OK so where is it? They said OH just pull your car to the back of the store.....

Uhmmm OK......

So I do that The guys says Can you open the back? uhmmmm Sure....

I open the back of my minivan and the next thing: THUNK. Like a BOWLING BALL dropped from the sky..OMG. It was the "bag" of WET COB... It was like 100 pounds. WTH????

Let's just say we had a VERRRRRY Happpy goat after that...

Canby Oregon is one Nutty wacky place to call home.....

Farmer-- so it would appear!

With more than a trillion dollars spent on wars and other foreign related endeavors, one wonders how come foreign policy no longer holds the attention of the average engaged American.

Ummm - do nothing and wait? Until they can successfully launch anything higher than the roof of my house I just can't fathom the threat. Sonny boy may be as loony as his Dad.

I feel really sorry for the N. Koreans who don't know any better.

I think you mean to say "After its most recent failed missile launch" without an apostrophe.

It's = it is
Its = possessive

I think the North Koreans are finding out that it is harder to be an international hardass than it looks. If they want to spend all their money on missile hardware instead of feeding their people, I guess that's their choice. Let'em. In the meantime, watch, and don't send them any aid. Their choice, not ours.

I'm not sure if this was written as a cynical observance or a criticism, but many people have a lot more on their mind than foreign policy. It does not mean we are stupid or uninformed. It just means we are struggling with the realistic problems we are currently facing.

Familes where both parents have fabulous jobs, with great benefits often are able to give this the appropriate amount of attention. The rest of us would love that luxury.
