Political Mayhem Thursday: The War on Christmas!

A topic of debate in several places at the moment is the "war on Christmas"-- that is, the trend in some places to avoid references to the upcoming Christian holiday. I have an idea! Let's all just believe in NOTHING!
"I'm spiritual, but I'm not religious." I hear that increasingly, but I have no idea what it means.
"I'm a very fast runner, but I never get off the couch." Equates.
Why don't we all celebrate or observe our respective holy days, as we see fit, and not try to pretend that we're not? Today, an client of mine who practices Islam explained to me that he did not attend a public sale of property he was interested in yesterday because he observed 10 Muharram, which he described as a day of self examination and fasting. I was impressed, and encouraged by his example to be more intentionally faithful to my own "religious" practices.
We run the risk of becoming so milquetoast about everything that we believe in NOTHING.

That's ridiculous, and it demeans our soldiers to call something like this "war."

O'Reilly is a blowhard.
Having said that, I hate it when store clerks say "Happy Holidays," when its CLEAR I'm buying Christmas presents and celebrating Christmas. I'd rather they say nothing.
But that's just me. I'm cranky that way.
I have no problem with public schools not mentioning Christmas. Public schools are for all, not just Christians.
