Poetry Cavalcade 5: Languid

Asleep on a summer day
Unwise
Unplanned
Yet, through a gate
A shudder
Perfect and vexing
Dreams of dead people
Did you not believe me?
And did I cry out?

Recalcitrant
Stretching
Not yet accepting
The gift freely given
Fingertips there.

Being awakened from sleep can be terrifying or amazing. I love how you see it.
