Pandamania!
Treasured Razorite Celebrity Luvr sent along this photo of a church sign he spotted in Waco. I'm assuming that "Pandamanium" is a theme for the church's Vacation Bible School.
Look, I love pandas as much as the next guy (actually, probably a lot more than the next guy, unless he is a panda). Still, how can you hold together a whole week of theological study with the panda theme?
I'm just hoping that a guy with a panda suit is involved... and not this panda:

Our church is doing the same VBS curriculum. I had the same thought about that being the theme of a full week of VBS. It just feels like some kind of cross promotion with Kung Fu Panda 2.
I am thrilled I only have to dress up as The Virgin Mary for V.B.S., and do not have to don a panda suit. It could get hot in there...but I guess if Wendy has to dress up as a panda in 110 degrees in Waco,I shouldn't complain. I am sure she looks perfectly ravishing in that panda outfit, heat notwithstanding...and you'd be surprised how much theology Pandas explain. An expose is emerging on the creeds: "He was conceived by The Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Panda..."
@ renee....listen, there is no way I'm getting in ANYTHING with fur on it anytime in the near future. It is 7:40 p.m....and the temp is 101.... Being a mascot, a pet, or a VBS teacher (teaching Pandamanium) is not in my future....
But thanks for the shout out....

I only hope I have not created a monster. You guys aren't going to be chuckling and snorting during the creed, are you?
Perhaps you could bring a panda mask and simply wear it during the creed. That way no one could read your expressions. I thought you probably were not reciting, but was not close enough to see if your lips were moving. You're not alone. I think there are more than a few who may have compunctions about reciting the creed. Then there's me who dawdles over every word to try to give it meaning. I do the same thing with The Lord's Prayer. Do you have trouble with that too? Because honestly, sometimes I get all the way through the prayer and don't have a recollection of what I said. Or that I actually said it,it is so rote. Perhaps if we recited in Aramaic?
