Osler's Razor

An intensive Google search reveals this is a photo of Osler on a bad hair day (are there good ones?) back in the 80’s after dying himself green from head to toe for a streak along DOG Street during the W&M Home Coming parade. Osler was often seen sporting open shirts with gold necklaces back in the day. The photo was taken poolside of the Golden Horseshoe clubhouse just prior to Osler being cuffed by the Williamsburg police. Colgate football humiliated the Tribe 50-0 later that afternoon … as, concurrently, the jailed Osler pled his case with the local magistrates … a tragic foreshadowing of a life entangled with crime, dugs and the law.
 

Tsk, Tsk - and he even posted a picture of his youthful indiscretion. What an example to set for his students!

Yep, I remember that. Kind of embarassing for all of us in the Fraternity House. We were a rock & roll fraternity and the future Prof. kept trying to get us to hire a disco band for our parties. This photo does not show his clogs.
 

That's because they taught him (tried) how to disco at good old GPN high. It was part of the social dance segment of phys. ed class.

Upon further investigation the crack investigative reporters from PerezHilton have determined that Osler’s March 12th blog made use of a highly touched-up/photoshoped picture from the 80’s (with current hairstyle covering the green afro, gold necklace out of sight, and the clogs cropped out) of Osler paying penance for his crime of public nudity and bringing shame to The College by playing disco music on college radio station. Per the directive of Dean Jarmon and the James City County Magistrate (a Colgate grad), Osler was locked into the blocks in Market Square in CW for the rest of the fall semester, a mere footnote in his untold history.
