I imagine a bill to abolish death penalty is a very complicated process. Reams of paper full of rules of evidence and procedure, lots and lots of words meant to convince one side or the other. When just the handfull of words you summed up in only one paragraph at the end of your article should sufice in the plain and simple name of human decency.
How can an eye pay for an eye when those two people could have NEVER possibly seen eye to eye. How can the enormous promise of a child's life can be retributed with that of a murderer?
