Haiku of the Pikachu
I'll admit that I never got the whole Pikachu thing. He's a mouse, sure, but he's an electric mouse. I'm not sure, exactly, how an electrified rodent is something you would want to carry around on your shoulder, but that seemed to be his deal. Hmmm.
Anyways, here are this week's haiku themes:
1) The beauty of Spring
2) Pikachu
3) Breakfast cereals
4) The Reply-Letter Doctrine
5) The Clash
6) The tiny island nation of Tonga
7) Eleanor Roosevelt
8) My favorite statue
9) Drug day
10) Matlock
Here is mine:
Drug day dialogues
Took more class time than I thought:
PCP Monday!
Now it is your turn... the recipe is 5 syllables/7 syllables/5 syllables.

That's a mouse? Huh.
Also, a "pika" is a small rabbit-like animal. I don't know if that's the same in Japanese. I know "pika" is not a word I know in Japanese.

pika means "flash of light" and chu is the squeak of a mouse. so the pokemon name Pikachu litterally means "flashing mouse squeak".
Prolly this is an old subject but I shall explain; the name "Pikachu" comes directly from the Japanese folklore and it was one of the few names kept in their original status due to its positive impact (most names of the Pokémon were changed when the franchise arrived to America). Ah well, the name is conformed by the following words:
"Pika" which is the Japanese onomatopoeia for a spark or electricity (in English it is something like bzzt or so).
And "chu" which is the cry of mice in Japanese (for example, in English a cat cries "meow" and mice, something like “eek”).
So, with a little of imagination, Pikachu means “sparkling mice”
That's it~

Pikachu is awesome. His name is Japanese and I think it means Electric rodent they just kept his name pikachu but they changed the names of the other pokemon when they made it american. Have you ever played any of the games or the original shows??? Then that's probably why you can't figure it out.
PS: If you're on the internet and can't figure something out that's as simple as PIKACHU, then just look him up!
